And finally, we make it to the most unique small business on our list – Lolo Potluck. They specialize in food that most Midwesterners have never tasted; Mediterranean food is pretty standard across the Midwest, but Egyptian? That’s new. And hot diggety dog, is it worth it. Lolo is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, from 12-8 p.m. on Fridays, and from 1-8 p.m. on weekends.
While many of the dishes on Lolo’s menu may seem new, they’re all equally delicious. Each meal is crafted with the freshest, most local, and perfect veggies available, and it shows. You’ll find dishes loaded with lamb and rice, hummus and pita, and the apparent shawarma and gyros. However, the most standout items on the menu are the Alexandrian meals, such as Kebdh and Koshary, alongside various other soups and snacks.
