When prom season is on the horizon and you need a dress, refer to our list below, in which we’ve featured 10 of the best prom dress stores in Wisconsin.
1. Gigi MKE Boutique

2. Dressed in Time
Dressed in Time is a favorite of locals in Milwaukee, and for quite a good reason. The shop opened in 2006 and expanded in 2020 after the owner (Sue) realized that they didn’t have the space to accommodate their customers. Dressed in Time is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Tuesday and Thursday and closed on Wednesday and Friday. They are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Dressed in Time has a massive assortment of dresses and clothing for people of all walks of life. Whether you need a prom or homecoming dress, something for a special date night, or even tuxedos and wedding gowns, Dressed in Time certainly has you covered.

3. Windsor
Madison’s Windsor is one of several chain retail shops which offer a broad and quite well-curated selection of dresses for all occasions. If you’re seeking a one-stop-shop for all of your special occasion needs, Windsor is likely your best bet in the area. Windsor is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the week, except for Sundays when they close at 6 p.m.
You will find just about anything you can imagine at Windsor. They’re a large retail company and as such, have an incredibly wide selection of clothes. Whether you need petite, plus, or any size in between, Windsor will have a dress that brings out the most stunning features you deserve to highlight.

4. Good Style Shop
And this selection is a bit more… local. Good Style Shop is a vintage women’s clothing store nestled in the heart of Madison, and they’re a real hidden gem. If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out their adorable little store (and the awesome selection), you’re missing out! Good Style Shop is open from 12-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
Good Style Shop carries three categories of clothing: dresses, blouses & tops, and denim. While the latter two are likely not the pick for prom, their vintage dresses are incredibly varied and are sure to catch the eye of everyone around. If you want a unique, one-of-a-kind prom dress, go to Good Style Shop.
If you’d like to reach out, head to Good Style Shop’s Facebook page for the fastest answers.
5. Furs & Clothing of Distinction
Furs & Clothing of Distinction (FCD) is one of Green Bay’s most beloved unique little boutiques. They carry (obviously) furs and “clothing of distinction,” including but not limited to numerous types of special occasion dresses and more. FCD is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, closing an hour later on Thursday-Friday, and is closed on Sunday.
You won’t, unfortunately, be able to peruse their selection online, as their only web presence is on Facebook. However, FCD carries a broad range of clothing and is dedicated to helping you find the perfect number for that dreamy night on the town. Whether you need a prom dress or just something to bring out your inner beauty, FCD has you covered.
To reach out, message Furs & Clothing of Distinction on Facebook.
6. J.P. Togs Prom & Formal
Those in Abbotsford likely already know this name, but J.P. Togs Prom & Formal is one of the best spots in the area for formalwear. They’re incredibly friendly, offer a massive selection of dresses and tuxedos alike, and are always happy to lend a helping hand when the need arises. J.P. Togs is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 12-3 p.m. on Sundays.
For the ladies looking for prom and homecoming dresses – you’re in the right place. J.P. Togs carries the self-described “largest selection of homecoming/prom dresses in the state of Wisconsin,” and they’re not joking around. Whether you want a simple little dress or a stunner of a designer gown, they’ve got you covered.
Go to J.P. Togs Prom & Formal’s Facebook page to reach out.
7. Sandra D’s Bridal Boutique
Sandra D’s Bridal Boutique is located in the heart of Watertown and is a fantastic resource for all of your wedding or prom dress needs. They’ve got a super friendly staff that knows perhaps too much about dresses and are always happy to help out with picking that perfect gown. Sandra D’s is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. 8. Lund & Taylor Bridal Gallerie
Right in smalltown Rhinelander, Lund & Taylor Bridal Gallerie is primarily focused on bridal dresses and the needed accouterments. However, when prom season rolls around, they’re one of the top spots in Wisconsin to find a prom or homecoming dress. Lund & Taylor is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.
Lund & Taylor is a unique shop on this list, as they stock up on prom dresses for the season and then offload them when the season is done. As such, you won’t find a selection of prom dresses online, but there’s a good reason. Lund & Taylor encourages customers to get personal help finding the perfect dress, and you simply can’t do that online.
To reach out, go to Lund & Taylor Bridal Gallerie’s contact page.
9. Premiere Couture
Premiere Couture is Cambridge’s top spot for dresses in all styles. They’re trendy, selectively curated, and offer wonderfully friendly service in line with their dedication to friendship and family. They’ve seriously got something for everyone, from dresses for brides (and their mothers) to prom and homecoming dresses when the season rolls around. Rest assured that Premiere Couture will get you sorted no matter your needs.

10. Charlotte’s Bridal & Formal Wear
Located in bustling downtown La Crosse, Charlotte’s Bridal & Formal Wear is your one-stop-shop for all things dress-related. Whether you’re a bride or just getting ready for your prom, they’re sure to have a touch of everything you could need. Charlotte’s Bridal is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday-Tuesday and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Charlotte’s Bridal has a bit of everything for everyone, but they’re an excellent stop for those plus-sized queens in my readership. The plus-sized collection is not only stunning but much more extensive than those at other similar shops. It’s worth noting that their prom dresses aren’t listed online, but they will be when prom season 2023 rolls around once again (beginning in early January).
If you’d like to book an appointment, go to Charlotte’s Bridal & Formal Wear’s booking page.
