If you want to go out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but are unsure of where to go, below we’ve featured 10 of the best places in to eat in West Bloomfield.
1. Soora Korean Restaurant
Soora Korean Restaurant is one of the best Korean restaurants in the Midwest, bar none. Their name comes from the Korean word Soora, a meal prepared for the king during the Korean Joseon Dynasty. And while they may not be serving kings – you’d never know it. Soora Korean Restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, from 12-8:30 p.m. on Sundays, and closed Monday.
You’ll find loads of east Asian cuisine made with the care and attention befitting a king (or queen). From crispy, savory seafood pancakes to pan-fried noodles, sumptuous gyoza (dumplings), and classic Korean bulgogi, you’ll find loads of incredible flavors on offer at Soora Korean Restaurant.
Swing by Soora Korean Restaurant’s contact page for more information.
2. Bistro le Bliss
Bistro le Bliss is an entirely different beast from Soora. Bistro le Bliss serves classic high-end meals in a surprisingly relaxed environment. They operate under the idea that “people who love to eat are always the best people,” and that attitude applies equally to the staff and clientele that frequent the joint. Bistro le Bliss is open from 5-9 p.m Tuesday-Saturday for dinner service, are closed Sunday-Monday.
No matter your palate’s preference, there’s a plate here for everyone. The appetizers include baked camembert cheese and roasted eggplant “caviar,” though those are just the beginning. You’ll find daily made soup de jour offerings, delectable entrees (including salmon a la plancha and bolognese, to name a few), and more. In fact, those who call ahead can schedule their own private little brunch – so hop on it!

3. Taqueria Alchile Mexican Grill
Taqueria Alchile Mexican Grill is the embodiment of a classic neighborhood taqueria. They’re incredibly down-to-earth and craft the tastiest (and most reasonably priced) tacos and burritos in the area, along with a number of Mexican specialties. Alchile Mexican Grill is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. Alchile is closed on Mondays.
Be honest; you know what to expect here. Unbelievably tender, falling-off-the-bone Latin meat accompanies incredibly fresh produce, fresh corn (or flour, if you roll that way) tortillas, and capsaicin-infused salsas. Long story very short, Alchile Mexican Grill is your best bet for fresh, authentic tacos, burritos, and other Mexican favorites in West Bloomfield.

4. Soul Café
Soul Café is an all-Kosher fine-dining project in the heart of West Bloomfield. They’re known for the community table, fireplace, and friendly service alongside top-notch community service. That’s right – Soul Café offers aspiring disabled chefs an opportunity to earn their chops in one of West Bloomfield’s only fine-dining establishments. Soul Café is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday-Friday, and is closed on Saturdays.
The menu at Soul Café is an abnormality in the Midwest (meant in the best possible way) due to their menu. It’s exclusively Kosher, focusing on plant-based and pescatarian meals. For the uninformed, Kosher means you’ll find no cured meat, no pork, and generally no meat at all. But if you want a luxurious brunch with healthy, delicious plant-based food, Soul Café is your stop.

5. Sharaku
Sharaku and its sister restaurant Hanzo are perhaps the only truly authentic Japanese dining stops in West Bloomfield. While Hanzo suffered closure due to COVID-19 (as did many other restaurants in the area) Sharaku has stayed strong. The two restaurants have been in Michigan for over 20 years – so you know they have everything dialed in. Sharaku is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday for lunch, and from 5:30-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday for dinner. They’re available from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 5-9 p.m. on Sundays.
Sharaku has earned its place in the annals of West Bloomfield’s history if only due to the unrivaled quality delivered with each dish. You’ll find bento boxes and sushi rolls galore for both lunch and dinner, whereas for dinner, things are a bit more focused. Soup, soba (buckwheat noodles), and udon (white wheat noodles) are accompanied by Japanese steak and tonkatsu, among many other offerings.

6. Clean Eats
And now, we come to an entirely unique restaurant on this list – Clean Eats. Rather than focusing on creating a dine-in experience, Clean Eats has embraced the trend of ghost and virtual kitchens in recent years. They offer catering and delivery of professionally-prepped meals, allowing you to effortlessly eat food that’s simultaneously healthy and delicious. Clean Eats is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and closed for prep the rest of the week.
The menu at Clean Eats is a bit different from most restaurants. Rather than offering a set collection of dishes, Clean Eats is dedicated to helping you keep to your diet – no matter the restrictions. As such, they allow you to build your own meals, selecting from a large assortment of protein, vegetables, and carbs to create your own, personally-tailored healthy meal.

7. Boris’ Deli
Boris’ Deli is a classic Jewish deli, no two ways about it. The interior is cramped, as casual as can be, and filled with loads of tasty meats, melty cheeses, and local bread. While Boris’ Deli has a relatively empty webpage – don’t be fooled. They serve up the best classic deli sandwiches in the area. Boris’ Deli is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
You’ll find all of the usual deli suspects at Boris’. Hot corned beef, pastrami, and chopped liver accompany house Kosher pickles, earthy rye bread, and numerous excellent sides. And if you’re more in the mood for a burger, pita wrap, or an absolutely massive “overstuffed” sandwich, Boris’ will keep you enraptured with the mouthwatering meals on offer.

8. Val’s Delicatessen
Another West Bloomfield favorite, Val’s Delicatessen, is a slightly different beast compared to Boris’ above. While the previous entry on our list was a Jewish deli, Val’s is an all-American deli offering several forms of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Val’s Delicatessen is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
Their breakfast menu is pretty limited, primarily consisting of breakfast sandwiches and hashes. As for lunch and dinner, they serve everything you’d expect from a classic deli. Sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs are equally represented on the menu, alongside many delicious daily-made soups and fresh salads. While Val’s may not be a fine-dining joint, they’re certainly one of the best delis in the area – so don’t miss out.

9. Early Bird Cafe
Early Bird Cafe is another longstanding name in West Bloomfield known for its breakfast. While I can’t tell you which is better, as it’s all up to taste, I can tell you that Early Bird has earned a reputation for large portions and incredibly reasonable prices. Early Bird Cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Early Bird Cafe has all of the breakfast staples you’d expect. They serve countless types of egg dishes, from omelets and scrambles to benedicts, skillets, and more. And if you’re more of a sweet breakfast type of person, their waffles, pancakes, and seasonal specials are genuinely excellent. All in all, if you’re starving and need a large meal that won’t break the bank, Early Bird Cafe is likely your best-tasting option.

10. Nonna Maria’s
While Nonna Maria’s may be the last entry on our list, don’t be fooled – it’s one of the best stops in West Bloomfield (and Michigan, for that matter) for truly delicious Italian-American eats. They cook each dish as though they’re your Nonna (grandmother), and it really shows. Nonna Maria’s is open from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and are closed Sunday-Monday.
Each item on the menu at Nonna Maria’s is crafted with care. While this is apparent in every dish, what truly shines are the pasta dishes. Each one comes with its own unique handcrafted sauce paired with perfectly cooked pasta. And if you’re more of an adventurous eater, try out Nonna Maria’s other entrees. They range from meaty steaks and delicate fish dishes to veal and lobster piccata.
